Part Two
Different Grades of High Density Polyethylene (HDPE)

In the previous article, we briefly discussed about the characteristics and applications of three grades of High Density of Polyethylene (HDPE). In this article, we are going to discuss about two different and effective grades of HDPE in industry, Pipe and Rotary Grades, in a brief and useful manner.

Pipe Grade High Density Polyethylene (HDPE)

The Pipe Grade of High Densuty Polyethylene (HDPE) is specially designed for the production of various types of pipes, in such a way that the heated HDPE resin is extruded through the extruder to determine the diameter of the pipe

As it was mentioned in the previous article, HDPE have received a lot of attention in various industries due to their important factors such as lightness, high strength against impact, suitable resistance to chemicals and temperature changes

Pipe Grades of HDPE are not exempted from this rule and these mentioned features are suitable for the use of pipes in the sub-branches of this grade

The main factor of the Pipe Grade HDPE is high corrosion resistance and long service life, which has made them a suitable alternative to metal pipes

Below is some of the application cases of Pipe Grade High Density Polyethylene as follows

Production of water pipes which apply in water pipelines to transfer water

Production of gas distribution pipes

Production of pipes for sewage and drainage systems

Production of tanks

In general, HDPE pipe is a popular choice for a wide variety of applications due to its excellent properties, including toughness, chemical resistance, and long life.

Rotational Grade High Density Polyethylene (HDPE)

Rotational Grade High Density Polyethylene is specially designed for rotational molding, in which a mold filled with heated powdered plastic resin is rotated around two perpendicular axes to cover the mold

The high tensile strength of Rotational Grade HDPE is one of the important factors in rotational molding

High-Density polyethylene Rotation Grade, like other grades, has good impact strength, acceptable resistance to chemicals and temperature changes

Like other grades, it has the ability to be combined with other grades and masterbatches, stabilizers, etc  to modify and improve features and can be offered in different color

Some of the common applications of Rotational Grade HDPE are as follows:

Plastic tanks for water, chemicals and other liquids

Drainage pipes and lines for outdoor applications

Boat dock

Cargo tanks for transporting chemicals and other materials

Shipping containers

Furniture

In general, Rotational Grade High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) is a popular choice for rotational molding due to its excellent properties including high tensile strength, stiffness and chemical resistance.
